WABC Officially Names ‘Bernie & Sid’ New Morning Show. On Friday (3/9), TALKERS magazine wrote that Bernard McGuirk and Sid Rosenberg will replace the “Imus in the Morning” show on WABC, New York on April 2. WABC program director Craig Schwalb states, “It is nearly impossible to replace a legend like Don Imus. Bernie and Sid have been part of the Imus cast for decades and the new show represents an evolution more than a replacement.” Sid Rosenberg says, “I used to joke with Bernard over a decade ago about possibly working together. After all my trials and tribulations, that looked like a pipe dream not that long ago. I love working with Bernard and appreciate his friendship even more. Of course, none of this happens without Don Imus. I’ll always appreciate what Imus did for me personally and professionally. He’s a true legend and I’ve stolen as much as I can from him without being too obvious!” McGuirk adds, “This is a dream come true for me and an honor for my longtime friend Sid and I to assume the morning slot on the legendary WABC Radio from the irreplaceable and legendary Don Imus. We owe it all to Mr. Imus! To quote the great Conor McGregor, ‘We’re not here to take part. We’re here to take over!’ Brooklyn and the Bronx booming from your radio!!”

Dave Ramsey Profiled in Politico. Nationally syndicated talk radio superstar Dave Ramsey is profiled in Politico. The name of the piece is intriguing: “The Financial Whisperer to Trump’s America.” The story draws the connection between Ramsey’s core listeners – those who likely voted for Donald Trump – and the numerous Americans who, according to Ramsey, believe that they are in financial dire straits and are not hopeful about being able to get out of the mess they are in. Ramsey says he senses that there are more people who feel they are in over their heads and not hopeful of being able to get out that there were 25 years ago. Ironically, given how many white Rust Belt Americans voted for Trump because of his job creation promises, Ramsey is dismissive of a president’s – any president’s – ability to create jobs. “The office does not have that much power.” Read the piece here.
