The popular weekly podcast that is designed for “media freaks around the world” is honored with the Bronze Trophy in the “Culture & The Arts” audio podcasts category of the 2016 New York Festivals International Radio Program Awards for The World’s Best Radio Programs. “Up Close and Far Out with Michael Harrison” is a co-production of PodcastOne and Goodphone Communications and features as host, TALKERS magazine and RadioInfo.com publisher and editor Michael Harrison in conversation with some of today’s top contemporary thinkers from the arts, sciences, business and pop culture. About the honor, PodcastOne founder and executive chairman Norm Pattiz says, “I’m not the least bit surprised. This is exactly why I wanted Michael on PodcastOne. That’s why we’ve been friends and colleagues for all of our adult lives.” The specific episode of “Up Close and Far Out with Michael Harrison” cited for the award is “The Podcast Theater of the Mind” – described as “a media freak’s tour de force covering the evolution of humanity’s relationship with communications from prehistoric cave paintings to virtual reality and beyond.” Podcast executive producer Matthew B.
