Lounging with the Legends. Last night (10/14), some 250-plus veterans (and current players) from the music and radio industries gathered at El Original Tex Mex restaurant/bar in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen for the second annual Music Industry Reunion New York. Organized by longtime music industry impresario Jon Scott and funded by a grant from RadioInfo, the free event was an informal hug-fest bringing together old colleagues, many of whom hadn’t seen each other since the early 1970s. This is the sister reunion of the Music Industry Reunion Los Angeles, also organized by Scott, which recently celebrated its third annual installment in Calabasas, California. Pictured in the photo above at last night’s party, TALKERS/RadioInfo publisher, Michael Harrison (c) is reunited with old buddies John Platt (l), communications director and air personality at triple A WFUV, New York and the legendary George Meier, founder and former publisher of the iconic progressive rock radio trade publication, Walrus.
