LOS ANGELES — Bidding adieu to the shortest month of the year, we commence our four-part series of January 2018 ratings recaps with an overview of all-news operations.
The following scoreboards reflect data from all-news stations that appeared in the top 20 (6+) in January 2018, a ratings period that covered January 4- 31.
Nielsen Audio only releases audience estimates for facilities that subscribe to its services. As a result, ratings stats in this exclusive analysis are limited to stations that pay Nielsen Audio for its data.
With the exception of WBZ-AM, Boston and KFBK, Sacramento (both iHeartMedia); WTOP, Washington, DC (Hubbard); and KOMO, Seattle (Sinclair Broadcast Group), all stations listed here are Entercom-owned properties.
The vast majority of stations shown here do – indeed – program news around the clock; however, a few run talk blocks, making them genuine news – talk hybrids.
Appearing in the Baltimore report, Bloomberg-operated WDCH airs a business news format.
