Salem and Dennis Prager Agree to Contract Extension

Salem Media Group and Salem Radio Network nationally syndicated talk host Dennis Prager agree to terms on a contract extension. As part of the new deal, and at Prager’s request, the midday show – currently airing from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm ET – will air live from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm, effective February 5. Salem says Prager requested the shortened show time “in order to complete hisim monumental five-volume Bible commentary, The Rational Bible, as well as three other books.” Salem adds that each hour of Prager’s show will contain six more minutes of talk than at present and that third-hour affiliates are being offered the opportunity to take an hour of the Charlie Kirk show, which airs at the same time as Prager’s program. Additionally, Prager will do a monthly virtual “hangout” with subscribers to his Pragertopia +. Salem SVP of spoken word Phil Boyce comments, “Dennis Prager is a true talk radio icon and has been for the last 42 years since he first began on the radio at KABC in Los Angeles hosting the original ‘Religion on the Line.’ Millions of listeners spend the day with Dennis, enjoying his wit, wisdom, and knowledge. He is one of the most viral talk hosts on the air today, and we wanted him to remain on the Salem Radio Network for years to come.”

WEEI, Boston’s Greg Hill Signs Multiyear Extension

Morning show personality Greg Hill signs a multiyear contract extension with Audacy’s sports talkim WEEI-FM, Boston. He’ll continue to lead his program that includes cast members Jermaine Wiggins, Courtney Cox and Chris Curtis. Audacy Boston SVP and market manager Mike Thomas states, “We are thrilled to extend Greg’s contract and keep the momentum going for his award-winning morning show. KWAM, Memphis News Anchor Ben Deeter Signs Extension

Starnes Media Group announces that it has signed a long-term contract extension with KWAM, Memphis news anchor Ben Deeter. He’ll continue to co-host the award-winning “Wake Up Memphis” show as well as anchor the midday newscasts. Deeter joined KWAM in 2021 after graduating from Cedarville University. He’s the winner ofim multiple Tennessee Association of Broadcasters awards as well as a regional Edward R. Murrow Award. Michael Kay Renews to Continue ESPN New York Show

As reported by the New York Post, afternoon drive personality Michael Kay has signed a contract extension with Good Karma Brands-operated sports talk WEPN-FM, New York “ESPN New York” that is a “seven-figure deal per year and is for multiple years.” The Post reported in January that the 62-year old Kay was seriouslyMichael Kay - New York Yankees considering retirement. Kay announced the deal on his program yesterday (3/16) saying,  “When the story in The Post came out, I was pretty certain that was going to be it and I would leave the show after 21 years in September. It had been a great run, a long run. I just said, ‘That’s it. I’m probably too old to do it.’” Kay is supported on the show by co-host Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg. The show is simulcast on the YES TV network. Kay also serves as the television play-by-play announcer for New York Yankees baseball games. Read the Post story here.

Dave Elswick Renews with Salem’s “The Answer” in Little Rock

Talk host Dave Elswick tells TALKERS magazine that he’s signed a one-year contract extension with Salem Media Group to continue hosting the 7:00 am to 11:00 am program on KDXE-FM, Little Rock “101.1 FM TheFace - Glasses Answer.” Elswick notes that he’s beginning his 23rd year as a talk host in the Little Rock market. He says that with COVID protocols now in the rear-view mirror, he’s returning to hosting live broadcasts of the state legislature’s general session. Prior to joining Salem, Elswick served with iHeartMedia at crosstown news/talk KARN-FM.
