LOS ANGELES — All-news properties take center stage as we begin our four-part series of July 2018 ratings recaps.
The following scoreboards reflect data from all-news stations that appear in the top 20 (6+) in July 2018, a ratings period that covered June 21 – July 18.
Among qualifying all-news properties, only of every five is up month to month (20%, June 2018 – July 2018, 6+), while roughly one in three (36%) shows a July 2017 – July 2018 increase.
Nielsen Audio only releases audience estimates for facilities that subscribe to its services. As a result, ratings stats in this exclusive analysis are limited to stations that pay Nielsen Audio for its data.
While the vast majority of outlets on this particular panel program news around-the-clock, a few run talk blocks in addition to their news committment, making them genuine news – talk hybrids.
All but four facilities listed here are owned by Entercom. The exceptions are WBZ-AM, Boston and KFBK, Sacramento (both iHeartMedia); WTOP, Washington, DC (Hubbard); and KOMO, Seattle (Sinclair Broadcast Group).
