LOS ANGELES — Having already posted thorough June 2018 ratings overviews for sports talk (Wednesday, 7/18) and public radio news/talk (yesterday, 7/19), we turn our attention to a similar analysis for alternative – occasionally referred to as “modern rock.”
The following scoreboards are comprised of alternative-formatted facilities that rank in the top 20 in any PPM-market (6+, June 2018).
Nielsen Audio only releases audience estimates for facilities that subscribe to its services. Owing to that reason, ratings stats in this exclusive analysis are limited to stations that pay that company for its data.
Bottom-line comparison: Among the three genres we’ve addressed so far, public radio news/talk has the best June 2018 market rank (#11.35, 6+) and highest June 2018 market share (3.48, 6+); alternative is second in both categories (#13.38/3.02, 6+), while sports talk is third (#13.38/2.64, 6+).
