Reports: Chris Carlin to Co-Host Afternoons with Ike Reese at WIP, Philadelphia.  According to media reports in Philly.com and the New York Daily News, longtime Big Apple sports media figure Chris Carlin is being hired to co-host the afternoon drive show at CBS RADIO’s WIP, Philadelphia alongside Ike ReesePhilly.comcarlinchris reports that WIP would neither confirm nor deny that Carlin is joining the station.  The site also calls the hire “an odd choice” given that Carlin has been a longtime New York sports media personality.  Many in the industry would agree that Philadelphia is a market where sports fans like their talk hosts to be natives.  Currently, Carlin works for SportsNet New York hosting the “Loud Mouths” show.  Carlin served as producer for WFAN, New York’s Mike Francesa for six years and handled sports update duties on WFAN’s “Imus in the Morning” program for a while.  He is currently the voice of Rutgers football.
