Schnitts Involved in Legal Action with Former Lawyers. The suit that talk show host Todd Schnitt and his wife Michelle filed against fellow radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge for defamation was colorful, to say the least, even including bizarre misconduct on the part of Bubba’s legal team. Now, the Schnitts’ former lawyers are suing the Schnitts for not paying all of their legal bills and the Schnitts are countersuing. FOX News 13 Tampa has the story here, but the thumbnail version is that the Schnitts are countersuing because they allege their case was unwinnable and that they were egged into pursuing legal action that their team should have known was futile. Further, the Schnitts say another legal defense that they hired to replace the lawyers with whom they are now in dispute was able to ultimately mediate a détente between them and Bubba. The case is currently going on in Tampa.

FBI Raids ‘Free Talk Live’ Studios in Keene, NH. Early on Sunday morning (3/20), a warrant was executed on the studios of the nationally syndicated talk program “Free Talk Live.” FBI and Keene police personnel removed approximately 10 computers from the residence that serves as the program’s offices and studios as part of a child pornography investigation, according to a report by WMUR-TV, Manchester. The FBI is only telling news outlets that an investigation is ongoing and that no one has been arrested. “Free Talk Live” co-host Ian Freeman is an organizer in the libertarian group Free Keene. Fellow liberty activists tell the Concord Monitor that a public break between Freeman and another group, Free State Project (a movement to encourage liberty-minded individuals to re-locate to New Hampshire), could have sparked the investigation. Over a period of time, a philosophical debate within the libertarian community in New Hampshire over such issues and age-of-consent laws has drawn divisions and created factions. But Free State Project’s disassociation from Freeman broadened that awareness. Without knowledge of the details of the warrant, it’s impossible to know what, specifically, authorities are investigating. Read the Concord Monitor story here.
