LOS ANGELES — Our four-part series of August 2018 ratings recaps commences with a review of all-news properties.
The following scoreboards reflect data from all-news stations that appear in the top 20 (6+) in August 2018, a ratings period that covered July 19 – August 15.
Among qualifying all-news properties, one of every four is even month-to-month (25%, July 2018 – August 2018, 6+).
Nielsen Audio only releases audience estimates for facilities that subscribe to its services. As a result, ratings stats in this exclusive analysis are limited to stations that pay Nielsen Audio for its data.
While the vast majority of outlets on this particular panel program news around-the-clock, a few run talk blocks in addition to their news commitment, making them genuine news – talk hybrids.
All but four facilities listed here are owned by Entercom. The exceptions are WBZ-AM, Boston (also listed in Providence) and KFBK, Sacramento (both iHeartMedia); WTOP, Washington, DC (Hubbard); and KOMO, Seattle (Sinclair Broadcast Group).
