castnermichaelCandidates’ Rhetoric Spurs KEX, Portland Host Michael Castner to Come Out.  Citing some of the rhetoric coming from the GOP candidates that he believes is rekindling Americans’ “hate and fear,” especially with regard to the candidates’ vows to overturn gay marriage, KEX, Portland talk host Michael Castner came out to his audience as gay.  Admitting that he’d kept his sexual orientation secret out of fear and “perhaps even cowardice,” Castner believes he has a responsibility to speak up both for himself and for others who don’t have a voice.  Castner observed that both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have vowed to make overturning the recent Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage a priority and that Trump has indicated he’s also in favor of overturning.

wpht logoWPHT, Philadelphia Adds Dave Ramsey Show.  Nationally syndicated talk star Dave Ramsey’s radio program is being added to the lineup at CBS RADIO’s WPHT, Philadelphia in the 9:00 pm to 12:00 midnight slot, effective March 7.  CBS RADIO Philadelphia SVP and market manager David Yadgaroff says, “We couldn’t be more pleased to bring Dave Ramsey to WPHT.  He hasramseydave been creating powerful radio broadcasts with the passion and positivity that will fit perfectly into WPHT’s lineup.  Combining Dave Ramsey with the great local talent like Chris Stigall, Dom Giordano and Rich Zeoli has everyone at the station excited to bring this new roster to our listeners.”  Ramsey Media VP Brian Mayfield adds, “We are excited to join the team at WPHT and to work with another strong CBS Radio affiliate.  Philadelphia is already a great market for our brand, and we look forward to what the future holds with this new relationship.”

cookmerrillMerrill Cook to Host Mornings on KLO, Salt Lake City.  Former U.S. Representative Merrill Cook is joining KLO Broadcasting’s KLO-AM, Salt Lake City to host the 7:00 am to 10:00 am program, beginning on March 14.  Station general manager Matt Webb says, “Our audience has been asking for more local, live radio and Merrill is a huge part of that.  Merrill Cook is part of the fabric of Utah and, in particular, Utah politics.  We’re very excited to have him as part of our radio family.”  Cook comments, “I’m thrilled to be part of such a prestigious radio lineup on a legacy station such as KLO.  To be on the same station with radio icons like Laura Ingraham, Michael Medved, and Dennis Prager is a true honor.”
