Diane Warren and Jean Robinson • MMTC Media Brokers (run by Bounceology)
This interview was conducted by Sandi Bergman
Sandi: What did you do before becoming a media broker?
Warren: Jean and I both came to our MMTC work with decades of radio broadcast experience. We both worked for the Clear Channel corporate team prior to the leverage buy out. Jean comes to this work with legal and operational experience. I come to this work with operational, strategic and deal experiences. Together we have done over 200 deals for David Honig of MMTC. We work with buyers, sellers and companies who chose to DONATE stations to MMTC. We can find ideal minority, multicultural and women buyers for these properties. It’s a win for everyone.
Sandi: What influenced your decision to become media brokers?
Warren: We are fully committed to MMTC’s mission to bring minorities, multicultural and women broadcasters to ownership! This is a very important mission and we work hard to “make dreams come true.”
Sandi: Where do you see station sales today?
Warren: There are substantial tax benefits for donors. There are sellers who have reasonable expectations and are ready to sell. There are buyers with personal equity funding and there are opportunities to access additional capital to help secure a deal. The most important component is for buyers to have experience and a good business plan including compelling content and a good sales strategy.
Sandi: Highlight any listings that would be good opportunities for displaced station personnel and/or first-time entrants:
Warren: We have recently secured deals for all of our listings. We are happy to assist a donor so they can maximize their tax benefit. We can also help any prospect find a property that suits their needs or to sell a property. MMTC’s brokerage proceeds go to fund MMTC’s advocacy work in Washington, D.C.

Sandi: We do have a record number of stations for sale or LMA now listed on www.RadioTVDeals.com. Here are a few that might be of interest to readers:
